Coffee Milk Tea (Hong Kong style Yuanyang tea) is a drink made with a combination of coffee, milk, and tea. This drink is made both iced and hot. I personally like hot coffee and tea-based drinks, but if you are a fan of iced coffee, be sure to try the iced version of this refreshing morning treat.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup coffee
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tea bag
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- Boba pearls(optional)
Instructions
Step 1
First, heat the milk and teabag in a small saucepan. When the milk has steamed, add the sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves. Brown or white sugar is often used to sweeten this drink, but you can also use honey and maple syrup. You can alter the sweetness level by reducing or increasing the amount of sugar or syrup. Prepare espresso with an espresso machine or Moka pot.
Step 2
Remove the milk and tea mixture from the heat and discard the teabag. Pour the espresso into a glass and add milk and tea.
Step 3
If you want to have iced tea, let the mixture of milk, tea, and espresso reach room temperature, and then put them in the refrigerator. Then add a few pieces of ice cubes to the glass cup. Add milk, tea, and coffee, and enjoy.
Notes
The ratio I always use is 3:1. Mix 3 parts milk tea with one part coffee. But feel free to change this rule. You can adjust this ratio according to your taste and enjoy every sip of your coffee.
